This week the Consider Canada City Alliance Inc. – a united front representing Toronto, Montréal, Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Québec City, Winnipeg, Waterloo Region and Saskatoon – is embarking on a three-city investment mission to China. This is the Asian country that the OECD predicts will surpass the U.S. to become the world’s largest economy as soon as 2016.

This investment mission, by the cities that accounted for 72% of GDP growth and 90% of job growth in Canada between 2007 and 2012, is one of several this year to help international companies determine the best strategies for business expansion and continually improve Canada’s ability to attract new investment and trade opportunities. And it's underlined by the fact that as of 2012, Canada is now the lead country in the world for Chinese outward bound direct investment.

market2world is extraordinarily proud of the progress being made by the Consider Canada City Alliance. Working closely with Michael Darch, the founding President of the Alliance, and his Chairman Bruce Graham, who is also President and CEO of Calgary Economic Development, we created the Alliance's logo, core messaging and positioning, its trilingual Web site, marketing collaterals and are handling PR on both sides of the Pacific. We are also promoting the organization's success on Facebook, Twitter and China's Weibo social media network.

Our PR effort started last week with a media alert that has already garnered positive press across Canada. This week we look forward to initiating more coverage on both sides of the Pacific.
