To paraphrase This Hour Has 22 Minutes CBC TV comedian Cathy Jones, "We were just fooling around!" when we decided to help sponsor and promote Almonte's Puppets Up! festival with "puppetcasts".

Philo, the tech-job-seeking puppet who has a love of drink and no tech skills to speak of, has become a buzz marketing sensation on YouTube where we posted a three-part series of puppetcasts. Philo haplessly interviews with three technology companies from Almonte's tech cluster, including market2world.

With the festival still 10 days away, we're pleased with the response that is now closing in on 1000 views of the videos from the YouTube community, along with high community ratings of Philo's performance.

We're equally pleased with the generous coverage from arts, business and community newspapers, including The Ottawa Citizen, EMC Record News (front page story), Business Today (another front page), Mississippi Weekender and theHumm. We're also hoping for some TV coverage just prior to the festival (provided that Philo's agent gives us the green light to proceed).

If you like the puppetcasts, don't forget to use YouTube's "Share Video" tool to send our puppetcast to your friends! And don't forget to join us the second weekend of August for Puppets Up!
